Politics will just corrupt Pacquiao

By Beth Celis, Inquirer News Service, 22 Apr 2007

MANILA, Philippines -- The call came just as I stepped out of DZME’s radio booth yesterday noon. I had just finished my program “Usapang Sports” and was not inclined to take any more calls, except that the name of the caller rang a bell. “Freddie MaƱalac,” said the technician. He was a former photo journalist once connected with the Manila Bulletin where I used to write. Dummy Up, Paclanders! You're Stupid If You Think Manny Pacquaio Is!

By Michael Marley, Boxing Confidential, 22 Apr 2007

And I've heard the whispers that you could ask Manny to spell Bob Arum's first name, spot the great fighter the two "b's" and he still could not come up with B-o-b. I've heard some Filipinos say an adult has to hold Manny's and when he wants to cross a busy Manil Read Full Story >>>

MANILA, Philippines -- These days, Manny Pacquiao finds it more difficult to earn votes than to land a punch. But just like in his bouts, the people’s champ takes adversity in stride. “Sport lang ako (I’m a good sport),” Pacquiao says, minutes after signing a manifesto for peaceful elections with Rep. Darlene Antonino-Custodio, the boxing idol’s toughest competitor for the congressional seat of the General Santos City-South Cotabato district. “Parang sa sports, kahit magkasakitan kami, Read Full Story >>>
