Size indeed proved crucial as WBO superbantam champ Daniel Ponce De Leon prevailed on an easy unanimous decision over Filipino Gerry Penalosa. Scores were 119-109 (twice) and 120-108 all in favor of Ponce De Leon, who threw a total of 1,399 punches compared to Penalosa's 481 all throughout the fight. There were no knockdowns in the battle of southpaws, and Ponce De Leon could not put away the highly-covered Penalosa, thus ending the Mexican's three-bout knockout spree. More to come...
